In a world that is ever changing and the pace seems to be getting faster each moment, one can easily get lost or even buried in the grind and shuffle.

So what is the secret to moving forward and to find yourself one day at your desired destination? Some will say that it is goals that will do the trick, others are quick to point out a 7-step process and there are even those who say just wing it because you can't do anything about your destiny anyway.

I tend to agree with the goals, though this is no secret, by setting goals or making a plan and then working it will get you there faster. At least you will know you are there when you arrive.

I came across this from an old movie and found it to be a good point of reference to the question, "where do I start?". After you read it, read it again and post your thoughts.

Enjoy...Ocha

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

Today: It is a moment of light surrounded on all sides by darkness and oblivion. In the entire history of the universe, let alone in your own history, there has never been another just like it and there will never be another just like it again. It is the point to which all your yesterdays have been leading since the hour of your birth. It is the point from which all your tomorrows will proceed until the hour of your death.

All other days have either disappeared into darkness and oblivion or not yet emerged from it. Today is the only day there is.

“Whistling in the Dark”
- Frederick Buechner

Somebody needs you. Go find them. Move toward those who need you. Write a note to a dear friend. Keep in touch with your customers. Get closer to your family members. You will not succeed in life unless you are connected to people.

Success involves people. The people you need to succeed may not always come to you, you may have to go to them. This is the way it is in most cases. Why do you think the newspapers have a stand or paper machine on every corner or in every store? They understand that you have to go where the people are in order to succeed.

The adage that says "you will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue" is so true. You have to reach out, you must go to where the people are and reach them. Leave your comfort zone and walk among unchartered ground. That is where you will find the success for which you are searching.

Think of it this way. If you are a fisherman you would not fish for the trophy catch in stagnated water. You would need to go to where there is fresh water. That's where the fish are.

Success always begins somewhere.

Success always begins at some moment.

Success always begins with someone.

You must go where the people are.

Success is yours. Go get it.

Ocha

InfoWorthSharing.com

Many times we fail to see the first two because our worries seem to be more dominate stealing us of our joy.

I know it is not always easy to keep your worries at bay but ther is an old saying that goes like this:

"Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

This doesn't mean you have to not think of tomorrow for only failure can result if you do not. Be a tomorrow thinker and not a worrier. Understand your situation and focus on what it takes to correct and get back on track.

Your time is limited here so don't waste it.
In the 1980's, I saw an interview with an oil tycoon from
Oklahoma. He built the largest independent oil company in the
United States and flourished as an entrepreneur after leaving it,
generating hundreds of millions of dollars in the process.

Probably his most-often quoted thought on leadership, first shared
in the 1980s, holds closely to his personal track record:
“Be willing to make decisions. That's the most important quality in
a good leader. Don't fall victim to what I call the
ready-aim-aim-aim-aim syndrome. You must be willing to fire.”

I'm talking about T. Boone Pickens. He is a true expression of an
entrepreneur. Pickens is afflicted with the inherent restlessness that
drives most entrepreneurs. That restlessness manifested itself early
in his life. While he was still a teen, the Holdenville, Oklahoma, native
expanded his newspaper route sales by acquiring surrounding routes
one by one.

Traditional corporate life chafed Pickens. The Oklahoma State
University graduate left his first adult employer, Phillips Petroleum,
and started what would become Mesa Petroleum with $2,500 and a
healthy dose of moxey. He built his company into an independent
powerhouse that challenged and changed the good-old-boy corporate
culture in America.

If you are looking for inspiration, that motivating force to keep you
going when times are tough, when you think you can never build a
business, just remember, when you are flat of your back, the only
way you can look is up.

It's time you started Making A Difference.

Ocha

There are times in our lives when the odds are against us and there seems to be nothing we can do to change our situation. There may people around you telling you that you can't do something, or the bills are piled high and no end is in sight.

That's when you have to understand that you can't do it by yourself and that you are not in charge. You have to step back and let Him take control. Sure you have the choice and that is one thing that we all have, a choice.

A choice to succeed or let our world around us come crashing in and destroy our dreams, hopes and steal our joy. So the question is what do you do?

I suggest that you keep looking up. Never give in to the temptation to quit or just throw in the towel. Understand there will be setbacks on your way to success and that you will, with faith, overcome and reach your goal. Success can be yours.

Yes, it can be hard to keep looking up but then you can tell yourself that when flat of your back, which other way can you look.

Success starts with you and a decision. Be the drop that makes a thousand ripples.

Be sure to post your comments below.

Enjoy, Ocha

PS...click here or not

I'm sure you have heard the term "multi-tasking" and you probably think it is a very productive way to achieve results. I have found that you will achieve results but they will be far below your overall objective.

Say you are working on just three projects at the same time. You work for a couple hours on one, then a bit on the second, and finally a few minutes on the third project. Even though you made progress on each, none of them are complete.

Had you focused on results and taken the most important project and put the same amount of time into it that you put into all three, chances are you could have finished it therefore greater results faster.

By focusing on results is sort of like a small child learning to walk. First they learn to roll over, then they can sit up on their own, next they learn to pull up holding to an object and finally they walk.

Some times you do have to have more than one project going on at the same time but I encourage you to "focus on results" and work to finish one project before moving to the next. You can be assured you will have greater results.

Enjoy...Ocha

How simple does this sound? Doing the common things. Pretty basic stuff but how many people really understand the concept that if you do the common things uncommonly well, you will excel and grow in your life and in your business.

Take customer service as and example. I alway have told people working for and with me that if you have to call a customer back to give them the answer to their question or problem, you better call them back...today! Even though you may not have the answer to their situation, call your customer and tell them that. They just want to know what is going on. They need information.

What common thing are you doing uncommonly well in your business that your customer will remember? If you can't think of anything, then how do you expect to survive?

There is a story I posted on InfoWorthSharing.com that you need to read. It may give you an idea as to that common thing you need to do uncommonly well.

Enjoy....Ocha

PS...You may want to visit InfoESource.com for other ideas

And yes, I downloaded my copy and have found it to be quite a remarkable report full of eye-openers.

When he talks about having to first get your customer’s attention before you make a sale, though basic as it may be, many businesses fail at this aspect of their marketing, if they even do any marketing at all.

So what makes this report so unique? My thought is that the message is not unique nor new, rather Rich is smart enough to understand the basics of marketing and how to exploit this simple concept to his great advantage. Something most people and businesses fail to do.

There is a lot to digest in this latest report and I’m sure Rich Schefern has opened many eyes with this one. So does the world have attention deficit disorder? You decide for yourself.

Click on “comments” below and let me know what you think.

Ocha…Enjoy!

InfoWorthSharing.com

Maybe too much information. With every breath you take, you are bombarded with information. The alarm clock goes off, it's informing you that it is time to get up. Your work day is about to start. The morning weather man is telling you it's going to rain. Grab your coat. Traffic light turns red. You're going to be late.

The late night info-mercials tell you that a million dollars can be yours if you buy their product. Another has the best deal on sliced bread, or at least his knives can slice hot butter. Then there is lean grilling machine (I have two of these). And let's not forget you can lose 30 pounds by the holidays.

Point is, there is more information than you can possibily digest being thrown at you every minute you are alive.

And somewhere along the way you stop and realize that you have all this information and yet you are still in the same rut you were in 5 maybe even 10 years ago.

So what happened? You failed to filter the information. You let the good stuff get all mixed up with the fluff and hype.

But good news! The good information is still out there. Simply stated, you have two things you have to do in order to get back on track.

One, make a decision. Whatever it is you want to do, see, feel, taste, have, hear or be, make a decision to do it.

Two, you guesed it. Simply Do It.

Enjoy life...Ocha

InfoWorthSharing.com
